PRINCIPLES OF OUR WORK
Our approach to cooperation with women is partnering, and it preserves their dignity. We don’t question women’s experiences with abuse and violence. We respect the individuality of women, as well as their unique life circumstances and freedom of choice. Our interventions are adjusted to the needs and goals of women. We respect that these may change over time.
The main goal and principle of all our interventions are protecting women and their children from violence and its impacts. Our services are free of charge and specifically focused on women and their children experiencing violence in relationships and post-separation violence.

Our holistic approach comes from the women’s need to speak their entire story, of which the fragmentation distorts their real experience. We want to hear their whole story, but also help them cope with the loss of self-confidence, feelings of fear, anger, anxiety, guilt, and shame, as well as help with realizing that they are solving their situation within significant limitations of their autonomy from violent and abusive partners. We cooperate with women on naming and solving these inner conflicts. Our goal is to contribute to understanding the problem better and to achieve a new view of the situation and possible solutions.

Our approach is empathic, non-judgmental, non-directive, and defined by the needs of individual women and their children. We help women find their way around their situation, we provide them safety from a violent partner/parent, possibly another family member, or a community member. We provide access to justice and offer practical help.
We support the freedom of women when deciding how are they going to solve their situation. We provide all available information to women so they can make a well-informed decision. We support them in regaining control of their own life and gaining independence.
